The Vehicle Importers' Association of Lanka represents corporate members and small and medium enterprises spread across most parts of the country, along with the many businesses that support the vehicle trade.
We speak for our members before Sri Lanka Customs, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, the Department of Motor Traffic, the Police and the Ministry of Finance, and we work with port operators and overseas partners to keep vehicles moving.
What we do for members
Representation with authorities
We take members' issues to Customs, the Ports Authority, the Department of Motor Traffic, the Police and other public and private institutions.
Policy and budget proposals
We submit the association's recommendations to government, including proposals for the national budget.
Regulation and tax updates
Members hear first about changes to laws, taxes, systems and procedures that affect vehicle imports.
International links
We connect members with counterpart bodies abroad, foreign delegations and overseas trade visits, and issue letters supporting visa applications.
Seminars and business forums
We run seminars and forums on the motor vehicle industry and help support-service businesses build their skills.
Lakriya magazine and directory
Our Sinhala-language trade magazine and members' directory, with concessionary advertising rates for members.
